Last week we caught an early morning flight over to Germany ahead of our Plectrum Sessions in Berlin and Cologne. On Wednesday night In Golden Tears played to a packed store in Cologne and on Thursday Grey Television played to a bustling store in Berlin. Crowds and key members of the press enjoyed Veltins beer whilst they watched a forty minute set, shopping our new winter arrivals as they prepared for the cold temperatures.
This weekend our Carnaby Street store turns ten, for a decade we’ve been keeping our central London visitors sharply dressed and to celebrate we’ve enlisted the talented folks at Biscuiteers to turn our wardrobe staples in biscuit form. We’ve taken the EC1 chino, sand desert boots, Harrington jacket classic checked shirt, tailored suit, AW12 favourite the leather sleeved canvas parka and packed the biscuit tin to the brim with our sartorial essentials.
Halloween is just around the corner and competition is getting fierce at Ben Sherman HQ as to who will have the best costume come the weekend. On Tuesday we met with Leanne Hicks from our Carnaby Street store, who by night works as a special effects artist. Giving us a slight advantage on everybody else we learnt how to perfect the art of applying a bullet wound to the forehead, warning this post should be avoided by the squeamish.
Thursday night at The Union Square Ballroom, NYC, we hosted a showcase of British music with the British Consulate-General of New York City for this year’s CMJ music marathon. Alveraz Kings, Tango in the Attic and Dignan Porch played to a pack crowd, who enjoyed London themed gin cocktails from Bulldog Gin. We grabbed five minutes with each band before their set, and second in our three part series is an interview with Tango In The Attic.

To mark Plectrum by Ben Sherman debuting in international retailers Coggles, we went to their flagship store in York yesterday to celebrate. We joined the Laurel Collective for a stripped down Plectrum Session within the store, and guests enjoyed Saint Beer whilst they shopped the AW12 collection within the store.
London extends its summer’s reign as the capital of all things cool as Frieze London rolls into town. With 170 international galleries descending on Regent’s Park for four days, it is the biggest contemporary art event of the year. 2012 sees the Frieze Art Fair’s tenth year where they will be showcasing work from more than 1,000 of the world’s best artists alongside a programme of talks, film screenings and an outdoor sculpture park.
As the staff in our stores spend more time with the collections than anyone else, helping ease your sartorial woes and to find that perfect shirt, we think they’re in the best place to tell us how to wear it. We spoke to Sina in our Cologne Store and asked her for her top picks.
