When the line-up for this year’s Wilderness Festival landed on our desks today, our excitement went …. well…. wild! Nestled deep in the heart of Oxfordshire, the idyllic, eclectic and gloriously paradisical festival mixes together the absolute crème de la crème in music, food, theatre and the literary arts across four magnificent days in August.
When it comes to the musical elements, the festival proves that it’s tuned in on some of the hottest acts right now, and we’re particularly looking forward to see these four Ben Sherman favourites explode into the Wilderness:
Metronomy: Following the release of their new album “Love Letters”, the band will be playing Wilderness with their distinctive vein of off-kilter but brilliantly infectious electro pop. Expect breathy, shoop-shoop vocals spilling over spacy psychedelic synth.
London Grammar: Returning to Wilderness for the second year running with their ‘indietronica’ sound with swelling instrumental crafted from understated guitar and keys, bolstered with strings and percussion.
Sam Smith: With his first single out, a debut album crafted, and fresh from winning the Brits Critics Choice Award 2014, Sam have earned serious stardom. You won’t want to miss one of the finest new voices around.
Mount Kimbie: recognised as one of the most innovative electronic bands on the international gigging circuit. With the duo now signed to the legendary Warp label, it looks set to stretch further still in the coming years.
If you make your way to the festival you will find yourself treated to a beautifully immersive experience quite unlike anything else. Something we can’t miss out on here at Ben Sherman!
