We had a really hard time keeping ’50 Years of British Style Culture’ to ourselves during the lead up to launch. Excitement in the office peaked when the book was sent to print, so we shuffled along to the printers rubbing our palms together with glee for a first look.
We caught up with Tim at the launch of ’50 Years of British Style Culture’ to talk Valentine’s Day, life on the road and his biggest style regret.
Last night we hosted a launch party at our conceptual retail space, Mod_ular Blanc to launch our new book and same name exhibition entitled, 50 Years of British Style Culture. Leading members of the UK’s menswear press and friends of Ben Sherman were amongst the first to preview the exhibition and get their hands a copy of the newly published hardback.
Pitti Immagine Uomo, held annually in Florence, is one of the most important calendar dates for menswear aficionados. Twice yearly hundreds of buyers, press and bloggers flock to Firenze to browse the collections of over 1000 brands. High in a tower, above the vast exhibition space of The Fortezza, we are exhibiting our Autumn ’13 collections to buyers and press.
Christmas wrapping isn’t normally at the top of our to do list, however we have put a Ben Sherman twist on things this to make a normally arduous task a little bit more interesting. Taking inspiration from our shirt bar illustrations, our creative team have set to work to on creating our very own bespoke wrapping paper for the festive season, and produced an accompanying Christmas Card.
We are very pleased to announce that in March 2013 we will be supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust’s week long concerts at the world famous Royal Albert Hall. Curated by Noel Gallagher next year’s annual series of shows sees Ryan Adams, Kasabian, Primal Scream, Rizzle Kicks and Labrinth take to the stage along with a night of comedy with Russell Brand and Noel Fielding.

Last week we caught an early morning flight over to Germany ahead of our Plectrum Sessions in Berlin and Cologne. On Wednesday night In Golden Tears played to a packed store in Cologne and on Thursday Grey Television played to a bustling store in Berlin. Crowds and key members of the press enjoyed Veltins beer whilst they watched a forty minute set, shopping our new winter arrivals as they prepared for the cold temperatures.
Thursday night at The Union Square Ballroom, NYC, we hosted a showcase of British music with the British Consulate-General of New York City for this year’s CMJ music marathon. Alveraz Kings, Tango in the Attic and Dignan Porch played to a pack crowd, who enjoyed London themed gin cocktails from Bulldog Gin. We grabbed five minutes with each band before their set, and second in our three part series is an interview with Tango In The Attic.
