Whilst we eagerly await the opening of our Marshall pop-up next week, we take a look back at the history of another British brand celebrating 50 years in the business.  Supplying sound to icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Pete Townsend, they are a brand with a rich heritage in music. 50 years of LOUD.

You can only imagine our excitement when we were told legendary suppliers of sound, Marshall, would be taking over the Mod_ular Blanc space for the weeks leading up to Christmas. We welcomed them in with open arms and warm hearts. A British brand, much like ourselves, who spent the past 50 years supplying their goods to music icons throughout some of the most influential years in rock ‘n’ roll.

It all came about during the 1960’s when a young Jim Marshall was selling guitar equipment in his drum store. His customers Pete Townshend and Richie Blackmore just couldn’t fathom how they were going to blast out their sounds at crowd pleasing volumes, so Jim set about building his own amplifiers. The Marshall sound was born and soon everyone from The Who to Jimi Hendrix was ‘turning it up to 11’.

Marshall understand you may want to carry the same sweet and legendary sound they’ve been providing to musicians around the globe. That’s why they created Major and Minor headphones with the same unparalleled amount of wisdom has been distilled and fused into each pair. Alongside Marshall headphones, the Mod_ular  Blanc store will also the brand new Hanwell active loudspeaker (the first home audio product from Marshall, and a Mod_ular Blanc exclusive).

Mod_ular Blanc opens on 16th November.
