Ben Sherman's Record Store Day 2016 Picks

Gone are the days when vinyl records were re-sold in car boot sales, online auctions or just given away, records and record players have seen a significant increase in sales and demand over the last decade, becoming more popular than ever.

Every 3rd Saturday in April, music fans across the world celebrate Record Store Day and this year's April 16th event is no different. From exclusive vinyl releases, sought-after rare finds and one-off classics for the old and new music collector, you're guaranteed a special find.

Inspired by Free Comic Book Day, Record Store Day was birthed in Baltimore 2007 before going on to impact the current state of the music industry. Now in its 9th annual and possibly biggest year yet, 250 independent record labels will be releasing thousands of special records and music specifically pressed for the day, with over 250,000 fans across the U.K expected to queue around the block of their local music shop.

The analogue sound quality, unique artwork and vintage appeal of a 7", 10" or 12" record has given the medium a more superior pull to the more accessible mp3 and is often regarded as the true way to listen to music.

With more releases announced than we could even mention, here are just a few of the notable releases available to buy on the day worth keeping an eye out for...wallets at the ready.
