Selling out months in advance, showcasing a legendary roster and hosting a collection of original attractions, the 10th annual Kendal Calling Festival came and conquered the Lake District over the weekend, exceeding the expectations of anyone who grabbed a ticket.
Over 20,000 fans flocked to Lowther Deer Park to watch a stellar line-up including Elbow, Snoop Dogg and The Horrors with standout displays to match. Recent Ben Sherman collaborator and Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess brought along Tim Peaks Diner where they served his damn fine coffee, along with live performances and guest DJ sets from headliners The Vaccines and Kaiser Chiefs. Astrophysics Professor Tim O’Brien made a scale model of the solar system and Blossoms, The Membranes’ Prince Fatty rocked the log cabin from breakfast time till 3am and Tim Burgess DJ’d two sets on the Saturday with special guests Pete McKee, Tony Husband and 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins.
The independent festival has held its own amongst the many across the U.K, growing into its own over the years as one of the best festival weekends out there.
