AUTUMN/WINTER LAYERING MUST HAVES

With temperatures dipping, rooftop bars closing, tubes no longer being the crowded sweatboxes they once were and every event and activity going underground (or at least indoors) the summer days are well and truly behind us.

It’s time to reset the wardrobe, put the shorts-sleeves away and invest in clothing to keep you truly covered for the days ahead.

There’s a lot of regulations when it comes to autumn/winter style, deciding what combinations to best go for is a challenge. To help, here’s our 5 product picks for flexible layering.

BLAZER

Gone are the days when a single or double-breasted blazer was strictly for the tailored types, blazers have now become a simple transition piece for out-of-office hours and weekends: pairing with a dark shaded neckroll or t-shirt and oversized scarf combo.

JACKET/COAT

It goes without saying that a jacket is a must in autumn/winter, but the right style is the reason why we’ve added it to the list. A Mac or trench should take care of those downpour days and breezy afternoons, whereas Covert Coats: the three-quarter-length premium coat originally associated with the hunting society, have now become a preferred option for the most casual dresser.

CARDIGAN

Whether your choice is a light merino blend – for double or triple layering – or the thicker shawl collared options, cardigans are versatile, premium and a guaranteed choice for the winter months.

KNITTED JUMPER

A few knitted jumpers for now until around Feb/March next year is key. So key in fact, as it’ll be going with almost everything you wear, so stock up. Autumnal colours best match this range and you’re likely to find shades matching some of the season’s themes (leafy browns, gloomy greys). Mixing comfort and smart is another thing to consider, so try a few out before you make your final selections.

SWEATER

For a more casual choice, there’s always the loosely-fit choice in sweater jumpers to choose from. From casual activities to (way more) days indoors, a crewneck sweat was made for the weekends and days off.
